Are you one of the millions of people who will be packing their suitcases to jet off to some luxurious locale this holiday season? By luxurious location, we pretty much mean your parents' house where you don't have to walk three blocks to the laundromat.
If you're planning to travel into or out of New York City's three major airport hubs, you'll be traveling through one of the three worst airports in America.
While you may have already had those suspicions any time you traveled through them, it's official.
Newark Liberty International, LaGuardia, and JFK International have been deemed three of the worst airports in America, according to Travelmath, an online trip calculator that determines whether it would be quicker for you to fly or drive to your destination.
They compared data from the federal government, such as percentages of delayed and cancelled flights, average time of delay, average time spent taxiing, average fares, and the number of TSA claims made for lost, stolen, or broken items.
Unfortunately for us, New York City's major travel hubs are among the worst in the country with Newark Liberty International taking the top spot for worst airport in America (322/322), and LaGuardia following in second (321/322).

It should be noted that in the battle of finding the lesser of evils, JFK was listed as the eighth worst airport in America (315/322).
Newark and JFK both receive some of the most TSA claims for broken, lost, or stolen items. All three were docked for having some of the longest taxiing times.

Of course, you need to accept this data with a grain or two of salt. These three airports are among the largest airports in the world, dealing with some of the most traffic. So don't change around your travel plans just yet.
Just keep in mind that our three airports will be seeing some pretty hefty traffic in the next few weeks, so keep your cool. And if all else fails, remind yourself that LaGuardia will be getting a makeover soon. Also, airport bars. Take the edge off.
