Last week's heat wave let us New Yorkers know that the weather DGAF if we've already donned our pea coats for the season. Fall in New York City has been seriously taking it's time this year, no matter how many PSLs we've consumed.

If you've made it to the park recently, to peep that fall foliage, you've probably been sorely disappointed.

Luckily, there are people out there who are doing all the hard work for us– check out the map below of how the rest of New York State is seriously #peakfall.

Not all heroes wear capes. You can check out iloveny's full foliage report for all the foliage details you will ever need– really.

You'll see that while NYC is marked as "just changing," while a few areas of the state, as reported by Time Out, are actually past peak (is that also a hashtag?).

However, the Metro North-accessible region just above us seems like it is in ideal 'gram condition... for now.

There's plenty of excuses to ditch the city, whether it's for a visit to one of the Hudson Valley's many beautiful wineries or another upstate day trip adventure.

So if you have a car (or can coerce a friend into driving), make sure to take advantage of this weekend, before it's too late!
