Coney Island is quickly becomming the glitter mecca of New York City.

Earlier this summer, Coney Island celebrated its annual Mermaid Parade where hundreds of NYC's most creative half-human/half-sea creatures strutted their stuff along the boardwalk.

But, because one day full of glitter and sequins galore just isn't enough, Coney Island has decided to ramp things up with a second festival celebrating the mother of all magical creatures: the unicorn.

This Sunday, August 14th, Coney Island will be celebrating its first-ever Unicorn Carnival.

This carnival is being hosted by beauty company Winky Lux, and will be kicking off at noon at Greenwood Beach along the Coney Island Art Walls.

The best part about this glittery carnival is that the glitz and glamour is being brought to you this time.

You can check out the Glitter Bar and make yourself over with some of the wackiest contours, brows, and lip colors around. Plus there'll be plenty of glitter.

A portion of the proceeds from the Glitter Bar will be going to benefit the local women's advocacy non-profit, AWARE. Get glammed up, and help out the women of your community.

But obviously the fun doesn't stop up with getting a massive unicorn makeover, the party keeps rockin' on with guest speakers from MTV's Are You the One at 1 p.m, and a massive roller disco taking over the dance floor at 4 p.m.

The event is free, but there is an option for a $15 VIP ticket. A VIP ticket will ensure you a full glam makeover at the Glitter Bar, access to the VIP area, and a free tote bag to hold all your new unicorn swag.

There'll be live entertainment, from music to dancers, and plenty of food vendors to keep you occupied in between makeover treatments.

Suit up in your best unicorn suit, and head out to Coney Island this weekend, because it's gonna be lit.
