May 21st marks what would have been the 44th birthday of rapper Christopher Wallace, better known as the Notorious B.I.G.

Producer and mogul Sean Combs, who was recently in the news for his involvement in opening a new charter school in his native Harlem, will be hosting a memorial bash for Biggie at the Barclays Center on the big day.

It's expected to be a blast from the past, featuring Bad Boy performers like Faith Evans, Mase, Lil Kim, French Montana and Diddy himself with special guests Jay Z and Mary J. Blige.

While it's bittersweet to celebrate the untimely early passing of a hip-hop legend-- as we've had to get used to this year with the passings of David Bowie, Lemmy Kilmister (at the end of December 2015), and most recently Phife Dawg --this memorial bash is going to be awesome.
