For anyone who ever complained about the bacon trend (or explosion) of the early 2000's that never seemed to end, we'll bet you're cheering at your keyboards right now because the newest trend is anything but meaty.

Apparently, the New Year has been ushered in by-- of all things --vegan burgers.

In particular, newcomer vegan chef phenomenon, Chloe Coscarelli, has guided in the new year with healthy and tasty alternatives to meatier delights.

After partnering with Esquared Hospitality's Samantha Wasser, Coscarelli opened her restaurant, by Chloe, on July 28th. In spite of the all-vegan, plant-based, and kosher-certified menu, Chloe and Samantha have been receiving over 1,000 orders a day since their inception.

Since then, the pair has announced that they would be opening two more locations early this year, including a spot on Lafayette Street.

Though faux meats have declined in recent years, the duo's most popular item is their "Guac Burger," with a black bean, quinoa, sweet potato patty, corn salsa, onion, guacamole, tortilla strips, and chipotle aioli on a whole grain bun.

And hey, don't knock it until you've tried it. by Chloe has developed a loyal fanbase that is willing to pay $10 for the burger and $3.95 for a side of air baked sweet potato fries.

For now, we'll stick with by Chloe over Chick-fil-A any day of the week.
