Thirsty Much? The Absolute Best Bars for the Best Happy Hour Deals in NYC

Drinking is basically synonymous with New York City. Okay, so maybe that isn't true, but NYC is definitely synonymous with excellent happy hour deals.

We mean, you can get an amazing deal in NYC on any day of the week. Even Monday, especially Tuesday, and yes, NYC pops off on Wednesday and Thursday too.

As you probably expected, things also get insane in NYC on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays too.

So, stop spending $14 a beer at a bar just because it was close to you. With the tiniest bit of deal hunting, you could've gotten that same beer for $3 at a much chiller bar. Then, you could've had that $12 to, we don't know, order Seamless the next day.

We're here to help with your deal hunting. Read on to find out about the best happy hour deals in the city, by evening, every night in NYC.

Monday

1. Calico Jack's Cantina (802 2nd Avenue)

calicojacksnyc Can you name this #cocktail? #calicojacksnyc

At Calico Jack’s Cantina, Mondays actually aren't the worst day of the week. Could you believe it? Well,  $3 margaritas and half-priced appetizers, don't sound like the worst part of the week do they?

Yeah, it’s sort of hard to have a bad time while eating delicious quesadillas and dancing hard to great music.

[anad]

Calico Jack's Cantina is also conveniently located in Midtown on the east side, so it’s a good place to hit after work to drown your sorrows.

Come between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Mondays to check out this deal, and prove Mondays actually are alright.

Tuesday

2. The 13th Step (149 2nd Avenue)

This wonderful East Village bar is the place to be on Tuesday evenings. We mean, they've got dollar beers and $9 pitchers. So if you want the bang for your buck, literally, The 13th Step is where you need to go.

This deal occurs exclusively on Tuesdays from 8 p.m. to close. So, your Tuesday just improved exponentially.

What else goes down at The 13th Step? Well, beer pong, amazing wings, and the largest plate of nachos you’ve ever seen in your life.

Yes, this does become one of the most packed bars on the weekends. However, during the week it’s much more subdued, and a lovely place for a Tuesday night. Did we mention dollar beers?

Wednesday

3. Down the Hatch (179 West 4th Street)

downthehatchnyc It's Saturday! Brunch kicks off in a few mins, $25 all you can eat #atomicwings and all you can drink #beer from 12-5!! Cheers! 🍻🍗

Down the Hatch is where it's at for happy hour deals on every evening of the week.

On Wednesday evenings, though? Well, that's about as good as it gets. They’ve got $2 domestic mugs on Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the rest of the bar is half priced.

Which means half-price domestic pitchers. This means getting drunk at Down the Hatch on Wednesdays is a cinch.

They’ve also got beer pong, a party crowd, and those amazing prices. If you want to munch on some tangy, really tasty wings, they’re $9, and you can get them in abusive or nuclear if you’re insane and you want to put your spiciness threshold to the test.

We could go on about how fun Down the Hatch is, but all you really need to know about are the $2 beers, right?

Thursday

4. Johnny Utah's (25 West 51st Street)

lynwoodkang How I'm spending my bday at the moment! #bullriding #johnnyutahs #drunkAF #newyorkcity #midtown

Even though Midtown bars tend to not be our favorite, Thursday evenings at Johnny Utah’s are sweet.

From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. they’ve got a pretty great happy hour, which means $3 cans of PBR and Rolling Rock, and $4 domestic drafts.

[anad2]

Want to know what else they’ve got? They’ve got $6 margaritas, both frozen and on the rocks, and $7 mixed drinks and glasses of wine.

Once 10 p.m. hits, that’s when things start to get off the charts. From 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., they’ve got $1 draft beers and free bull riding. That’s right: free bull riding. Check it out, why don’t you?

5. Jake's Dilemma (430 Amsterdam Avenue)

jakesdilemmanyc #MicroBrewMonday currently in stock. Stop in and try one of our many microbrews we carry on a daily basis!! #WhatsYourDilemma #UWS #nychappyhour

Jake’s Dilemma is one of the most fun bars in the city. It's especially fun on Thursday night because of those hot happy hour deals.

From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., the entire bar is half-priced. If that’s not excellent enough news for you, we’ve got more.

From 8 p.m. until the bar closes, it’s bucket night. Which means you can get a cold bucket of delicious domestic beers for $15. They come with five beers, which means you’re really spending $3 a beer. Pretty nice, Jake’s Dilemma.

They’ve also got $4 “J” shots on Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to close, which includes Jack, Jaeger, and Jameson. So, essentially, drinking at Jake’s Dilemma on a Thursday night is a win.

We also love Double Wide because on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., they've got $3 domestic beers, $4 craft beers and well drinks, and $5 frozen margaritas.

Can't get there before 8 p.m.? Don't worry, they've got $12 pitchers all night. Friday nights at Double Wide are fun and good for your wallet.

Saturday

ylezor Stop number 2. #sharonandrozetakenewyork

Drinking in the East Village on Saturday? You should probably get your night started at Local 138. They've got $3 draft beers on Saturday night from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

It's one of the cheapest, loveliest happy hours in the city. Delicious, fancy beers for only $3? You'll be buzzed in no time.

We mean it, we don't think you'll find a happy hour like this anywhere else in Manhattan. Plus, they've also got $3 well drinks, and wine too. They're also really tasty well drinks!

Local 138 doesn't get that turned up, so it's an excellent, more relaxed place to start your night before you get really going for Saturday night.

[anad2]

For $18, you can have unlimited angry balls, dark and stormys, strawberry fields, metro-mosas, bloody marys, mimosas, or brunch punches.
