Tuesday Booze-Day: 8 Best Bang-for-Your Buck Bars in NYC

If you thought Mondays were terrible, well, Tuesdays are even worse aren't they? Monday is like you just missed the train, and Tuesday is like you just missed the train, and then you can't get on the second train because it's too crowded.

We're claiming a revolution here. We don't think Monday is the worst day of the week. We think that prize could be far and away awarded to Tuesday.

The good news is that Tuesday is probably the best night to drink in New York City, based on the plethora of drinking deals on this day of the week.

Luckily, for New Yorkers far and wide, there are plenty of bars who take advantage of Tuesday's lameness, and they offer really unbelievable drink specials to improve the atmosphere of Tuesdays.

We're talking dollar beers at multiple spots, and there's even one spot in particular that offers 35 cent cocktails on Tuesday evenings.

Read on to find out about these bars and their drink specials below.

1. The 13th Step (149 2nd Avenue)

theazn_sensation The bar munchies were real 😩 #latergram #the13thstep #daydrinking

This East Village gem kind of kills it on Tuesdays. Could you beat dollar beers and $9 pitchers?

No, we didn't think you could. This deal occurs exclusively on Tuesdays from 8 p.m. to close. So, we guess Tuesdays could be much, much worse.

They've also got beer pong, amazing wings, and the largest plate of nachos you've ever seen in your life.

Yes, this does become one of the most packed, college-esque bars on the weekends. However, during the week it's much more subdued, and a lovely place for a Tuesday night. Did we mention those dollar beers?

2. 3 Sheets Saloon (134 West 3rd Street)

At Three Sheets Saloon, they really, really want you to enjoy your Tuesday evening.

We do too, which is why we're letting you know about it. Plus, who wouldn't want half off bottled beer, drafts, and Fireball shots?

Yeah, we went there. You really can take half-priced fireball shots on Tuesday nights at 3 Sheets Saloon.

It lasts on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., so make sure you get there right after work. They also have a huge jenga game and beer pong tables, so we're guessing you'll have a pretty great night. Also, take our word for it: try the buffalo chicken nachos.

3. Off the Wagon (109 MacDougal Street)

If you get to Off the Wagon between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on a Tuesday, you'll enjoy the full range of the bar's menu, for half price.

Wait, don't stop there. It gets better. If you get to Off the Wagon after 8 p.m., you'll be able to get blasted for delightful prices.

[anad2]

From 8 p.m. onwards, Off the Wagon offers $9 pitchers, $3 tall boys, and half priced car bombs, Jaeger bombs, tic tacs, Dr. Pepper, cherry bombs, grape bombs, Skittles, and Starbursts.

So, yeah, there are a lot of half-priced drinks at Off the Wagon on Tuesday evenings. It is technically their "college night," but that's fine with us. College night sounds fun.

4. Johnny Utah's (25 West 51st Street)

sweatycoach NYC has never seen this much trouble in one night. Saturday night madness, huge apology to my girl @ckgalli . Getting these boys up and about was nearly impossible. #saturday #johnnyutahs #fireballs #friends #thenewandtheold #onetoomany

If you're way tired of the stigma that PBR isn't any good, or, if you're ready to spend your entire night sipping on PBRs, then you should probably spend your Tuesday night at Johnny Utah's.

They've got $3 cans of PBRs on Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and they've also got $4 domestic drafts, $6 margaritas, and $7 mixed drinks and wine.

We don't think $7 mixed drinks and glasses of wine are that great of a deal, but $6 margaritas and $4 domestic drafts? Sign us up.

They also have a mechanical bull and some really excellent wings and sweet potato fries, so hitting Johnny Utah's on a Tuesday is definitely a recipe for a fun night.

McFadden's Saloon is definitely right up there among the top Tuesday night happy hour contenders. Every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to midnight they've got domestic drafts for just one dollar.

So, yeah, there are others like it, but as we said, we're definitely impressed by the delightfulness of this deal.

It definitely tends to get crowded with partiers on every night of the week at McFadden's, so be prepared for a wild crowd if you're braving McFadden's Saloon for their Tuesday night deal.

We mean it; it's a wild time. Don't come here if you can't handle it. If you want a more laid back atmosphere, you'll have to pay more than a dollar for beer.
