New York is the city that never sleeps, right? Wrong.
One would think that when wandering the streets of NYC in the wee hours of night you could easily stumble across a number of late night spots still open for business. But more often than not, this is surprisingly difficult to find.
And we say "stumble" because the majority of the time, we're coming off of a night of drinking and are in desperate need of something, anything, cheesy and fried.
We don't know about you, but we're awfully sick of 2 a.m. goose chases for such cuisine, which end up resulting in a Kraft single from the bodega before collapsing in our beds, deeply disappointed and still starving.
Don't go to bed angry? More like don't go to bed hungry. Much more detrimental.
But luckily, there are some delicious ways to avoid this. Read on to discover our list of the best late night grub in NYC.
1. Great NY Noodletown (28 Bowery)
Can I get an amen from all our broke ass homies? This place will be your late night godsend.
Everyone knows Chinese food is the best drunk food; but even if you're not drunk, late night Chinese food pretty much always sounds like a good idea.

Head down to the Bowery for some of the best, cheapest, and quickest after hours bowl of noodles your sober self will probably not remember.
2. Tick Tock Diner (481 8th Avenue)
Nothing like late night diner food to bring back memories of driving around in your parent's minivan with your friends after the homecoming dance and stopping at Friendly's for a burger and shake.
Ah, simpler times.
This 24-hour spot offers all the classics and is only steps away from Penn Station, just in case any of your friends has a journey back to Jersey or Long Island ahead of them. (Why are you friends with them, again?)
3. Cafeteria (119 7th Avenue)
Oh you fancy, huh?
If you and your friends have decided it was time to leave the club but want to continue your reenactment of a Sex and the City episode, head to Cafeteria for a late night bite.

We highly recommend the baked mac and cheese. It's dope.
4. The Donut Pub (203 West 14th Street)
Late night donuts aren't just for cops working the graveyard shift. They're also for ravenous twenty-somethings stumbling around Chelsea at 2 a.m. on a Saturday, in need of a cheap and quick treat.
The Donut Pub has been serving up deliciousness since 1964, so it's got that authentic parlor feel, rather than the hipster nonsense that often accompanies NYC donut shops these days.
There's a ton of amazing varieties of donuts, but don't overlook the classic Honey Dip. It's amazing.

5. Artichoke Pizza (Various locations)
Artichoke is hands down one of the best pizza joints in the city, and is open as late as 6 a.m., so it's a perfect way to end the night.

It's a little pricier than your average New York slice, but trust us, it's worth it. They also offer pretty heft portions, so you definitely feel like you're getting your money's worth.
6. French Roast (Various locations)
If you're in the mood for some late night ambiance and conversation, look no further than this cozy spot serving up yummy French bistro cuisine 24 hours a day.
Grab a booth in the corner, order up a round of Croque Monsieurs, and be comforted by cheesy goodness and the fact that calories don't count after 2 a.m.

Pocha 32 is the perfect final stop on your bar crawl when you're starving but don't want to stop drinking quite yet.
