It's Drag-Tastic! 7 Incredible New Drag Shows Hitting NYC This Season

Life in New York City can sometimes be a serious drag, but not in the world of its colorful nightlife, specifically where drag queens are concerned.

Some of the best drag queens in the world can be found hosting, dancing, singing and serving face all around the city, with new shows popping up at bars all the time.

If you're looking for a fantastic, glamorous time, we've got you covered.

There are a slew of new party nights and shows (as well as queens) that are kicking up their heels in the coming months.

Here are the ones that take the crown this season!

1. Hardware (697 10th Avenue)

Who's up for happy hour? Head over to Hell's Kitchen for the spooky and koooky Dusty Ray Bottom's Get Lucky Happy Hour, which debuted earlier this month. Each week she selects a special drag queen guest to join her boozy shenanigans starting at 5 pm.

Grab a $4 beer, wine or well drink or a $5 Stoli cocktail before the queens take the main stage in the back for an in-your-face drag show that will make you forget all about the stress you just had at work. DJ Mike Borowski spins your favorite hits while you sip. Party!

2. The West End (955 West End Avenue)

There's a revolution coming to the Upper West Side! Glam Award nominee Bella Noche is bringing together some of her best girls for ¡Viva la Bella-lucion!, a one-night engagement at this sultry uptown cabaret bar on Friday, December 9th at 9 p.m.

Joining Bella are talented NYC queens Ari Kiki, Beverly Leslie Sills, Bubbles Burstyn, Emi Grate, Gina Tonic and Zalika Parsons. There's also a secret surprise queen joining the ranks the night that will be announced on December 1st on Facebook. ¡Viva la Bella-lucion!

3. Vodka Soda/Bottoms Up (315 West 46th Street)

A new weekly drag competition has hit midtown on Tuesday nights at the bi-level bar Vodka Soda/Bottoms Up! Chosen, hosted by the effervescent Lady SinAGaga, invites a slew of drag queens to compete for a weekly crown and $100 cash prize based on audience applause.

You just never know who's going to walk through the doors to try their luck at winning over the night's patrons, sipping on $4 cocktail specials. From legendary NYC queens to fiery newcomers, it's anyone's game each Tuesday at 10 p.m. Will you be Chosen?

4. Boots & Saddle (100A 7th Avenue South)

Known for its epic shows and high energy crowd, this West Village drag lounge is welcoming two new rising stars to its stage. Beverly Leslie Sills and Emi Grate take over the bar with 2 Girls, 1 Tuck on Thursday nights at 10 p.m.

This dynamic duo is bound to get into all sorts of trouble when they take over Boots, and you're invited to grab a seat in the splash zone! Seriously, though. Whether they're pouring a Fireball shot or letting out a rafter-hitting belt, you stand a chance to get a little wet. No pun intended.

5. The Stonewall Inn (53 Christopher Street)

The legendary and foul-mouthed Lady Bunny has a brand new show on Wednesday nights at The Stonewall Inn, Trans-Jester! A true pioneer of the drag scene in America, Lady Bunny has run the gauntlet, and them some, when it comes to putting on a show worth seeing.

Her hysterical antics explore the political correctness (and lack thereof) in American culture, with a message of community, acceptance and not giving a f@#k. And I quote, “We’ve become so politically correct that they just made Dick Van Dyke change his name to Penis Von Lesbian.”

6. Rockbar (185 Christopher Street)

Second place has never looked so good at the Miss Runner Up Show, hosted by Florence D'Lee and Viva Vidalia Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. at the down and dirty Rockbar NYC. These two larger than life queens are towering over their competition this time around.

Nothing keeps these ladies down as their reminisce about their near-wins and find the humorous strength to carry on. Having the cheapest happy hour in town also helps wash down all that defeat. But you better show up, or they'll just talk crap about you on stage.

7. Vodka Soda/Bottoms Up (315 West 46th Street)

This Hell's Kitchen gem is doing so much, we had to list them twice! Starting on Monday nights at 10 p.m., the (usually) blonde bombshells Clarice DuBois and Blake Deadly are "making America shady again" at Nasty Women, the twosome's debut NYC show.

Get ready to hear all the smack that your dark little hearts can handle as they serve serious shade along with some sickening performances. And with $4 drink specials all night, they'll make sure the library is open all night. Because reading is what? FUNDAMENTAL.
