We're stoked about summer, and what's summer for if not for drinking beer outside?
Nothing, that's what.
Which is why we love beer gardens - places where you can enjoy an array of delicious beers, in addition to giant soft pretzels with mustard and other amazing bar food.
It's heaven.
So whether you're headed out with coworkers after a long work week or looking for a place to hang with friends on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, any of these incredible New York City beer gardens will certainly do the trick.
1. The Standard Biergarten (848 Washington Street)
The Standard is the perfect summer spot - right near The High Line, gorgeous outdoor space, and general good vibes all around.
It's a super social atmosphere. You're bound to make a friend or two or seven, especially with the ping pong and foosball tables in the back.

They've got a great selection of beers, and a ticketing system to make transactions at the bar way more efficient.
2. The Wilky (108 Patchen Avenue - Brooklyn)
The Wilky swaps the traditional, long-tabeled, over-growded beer garden vibe for a cozy, tavern-style experience.
They offer a lengthy beer menu, which is impressive when taking into account the size of the place.
The food menu doesn't disappoint either - the soft pretzel and giant sandwiches are where they really shine, and pair excellently with a good pint (or two).
3. Heidelberg Restaurant (1648 2nd Avenue)
You certainly won't leave hungry.
The traditional German menu is loaded with hearty deliciousness, from sausages to schnitzel to sauerkraut.
This, coupled with traditional decor and an extensive beer list, makes for a one of a kind beer garden experience that'll undoubtedly leave you satisfied.
4. Brooklyn Tap House (590 Myrtle Avenue - Brooklyn)
If you're looking to catch the game while enjoying a top notch beer (go sports!), look no further.
With over 40 beers on tap, dozens of TVs, and a happy hour that goes until 8 p.m., it's basically a beer/sports lover's heaven.
They also serve fried oreos, so it's heaven for every other human as well.
5. Loreley (7 Rivington Street)
Grab a group of friends and head to Loreley this summer for an afternoon of great drinks and great food.
The warmer weather means the opening of their beautiful outdoor garden area, where you'll be able to enjoy their wide variety of beers and incredible food.

If you're having trouble deciding (which is very likely), they offer a variety of platters and flights so that you can try a little bit of everything.
6. Spritzenhaus (33 Nassau Avenue - Brooklyn)
It's Brooklyn, so of course they have vegan hot dogs.
But, don't worry, you can get the real stuff here, too. The Belgian fries are also a staple, and are best when enjoyed with one of their 25 beers.
You can also grab a Jenga game and play with your friends - which might get a little difficult as you make your way through the beer list, but who doesn't like a good challenge, right?
