You know how everyone says January is like the Monday of the months? Well, if that's true then February is the Tuesday of the months. You're always just trying to get through Tuesday to get to hump day when the partying starts.
Well, how do you cope with the Tuesday of the months? We have some tips: lots of partying, lots of drinking, lots of cuddling, and lots of pretending it isn't Valentine's Day.
Plus, this February is a leap year, so it has an extra day February doesn't usually have, so, that's cool.
Why is it so cool, you ask? Well, if you ask us paying the full amount of rent for a month that only lasts 28 days is lame, so, happy birthday to all the leap year babies.
We think you should get down in February with alcohol festivals, winter carnivals, 90s dance competitions and bar crawls, and probably way too much partying.
Read on to find out what is going on in NYC in February, and then take part enthusiastically. We know we will be.
1. Winter Carnival (February 5th - February 6th)
nyuzac A view of 41st street from Bryant Park #bankofamericawintervillageatbryantpark (Zac Howard, NYU Digital Magazine. September 24, 2015)
Yup, that’s right. The Bank of America Winter Village won't last forever, but it's definitely leaving with a bang: by throwing a carnival.
It's taking place on the weekend of February 5th and 6th, and it’ll be bursting with fun activities.
There will be dancing. There will be curling lessons and ping pong. There will be ice skating, musical performances, and an outdoor winter brew house.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to curl? That’s great because the Winter Carnival will have curling lessons, and ice golf too.
There’s going to be a silent disco, lots of delicious food and hot drinks for sale, and the chance to have a really great time with your friends. Our take on the situation? You should check it out.
2. NYC Winter Wine Festival (February 6th)

Do you think the best way to handle February is by drinking wine? Do you think the best drunk is a dizzy, euphoric wine drunk, accompanied by a nice steak dinner?
If that's your situation, we're glad to hear it, because the NYC Winter Wine Festival is back, and it’ll be held on Saturday, February 6th at the PlayStation Theater.
There will be two sessions: one from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and another from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Register for the NYC Winter Wine Festival here. We hope we get to see you there.
3. Soul on Ice Winter Skating Party (February 6th)
nathanscotthancock #couplesskate with @bridills in #centralpark #laskerrink
You've been meaning to get out your skates for the season, haven't you?
Well, if you haven't gotten that done, we have great news for you. The Soul on Ice Winter skating party on Lasker Rink in Central Park will have skating, soul music, and food on February 6th from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
It's the perfect way to conquer those winter blues, if you ask us, since nothing really gets at your soul like, you know, soul music.
There will also be some pretty excellent raffles, and some really incredible figure skating performances. Get your tickets here.
4. 90's Bar Crawl (February 6th)
Do you miss the 90s, Pokémon, Kool Aid, when Michael Jordan played for the Chicago Bulls, and LFO?
Yeah, we only brought all that up because we miss it too. A lot. Luckily for us, we have a chance to revive the 90s in our hearts, even if time travel has yet to be invented.
The 90s bar crawl will be on Saturday, February 6th from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be specials at numerous excellent NYC bars, 90s music at all establishments, and really amazing drink specials.
We're talking $2 beers, $3 shots, $4 specialty drinks, and $5 for a vodka and energy drink, which will leave you feeling just like a child in the 90s. Get your tickets here. We know you want to.
5. Chinese New Year Firecracker Ceremony (February 8th)
abrandt88 Confetti, dragons, and flags oh my! #chinesenewyearNYC
It wasn't the New Year for everyone when the ball dropped. For the Chinese, the New Year will go down on February 14th, and you can be a part of it.
Why wouldn't you want to be a part of it? There will be firecrackers. There will be dancers, singers, and food vendors.
[anad2]
The best part? Yeah, we didn't even get to the best part yet, and it's not that the whole point of the event is to ward off evil spirits. The best part is that it's free.
It'll be on February 8th at 11 a.m. in Sara D. Roosevelt Park.
6. Bloody Valentine's Weekend (February 12th - February 14th)
bloodmanornyc Take your date! Steal their heart! ;) #bloodmanor #bloodyvalentine
We were planning to ignore Valentine's Day entirely, but we decided this looked gory, and intriguing, and therefore worth attending.
Bloody Valentine's Weekend will include mayhem, fear, and gore. Which is what we're all about, really. It takes place at Blood Manor, a famous haunted attraction that gets most of its play around Halloween.
However, this year it's getting some attention around the holiday we love to loathe: Valentine's Day.
If you and your date love haunted houses, if you crave the thrill of getting spooked, then this is probably where you should be on Valentine's weekend. Get tickets here.
,7. Nvr Sleep (February 11th)
Our favorite DJ Rodney Hazard will be spinning sets at Kinfolk 90 on February 11th, and everyone who's everyone will be there.
By "everyone who's everyone," we just mean us. We'll be there.
The party will jam from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. and there's no cover, so, you should absolutely skip the places that will make you fork over $20 just to get in.
Also, Rodney's mixes are fire, and if you want to start getting hype about jamming to his music, you can do so here. This event is for sleepers, dreamers, and those who love to dance. We mean, come on, could it get cooler?
8. Central Park Ice Festival (February 13th)
pabilas #okamotoStudio#BethesdaTerrace#centralpark #icefestival#newyorkcity #newyork #january18#2014#icefestivalcentralpark#centralparkicefestival#icesculpture#
If you haven't heard, or you're like, from Arizona and haven't spent a February in NYC, February is a cold month.
So why not get to Central Park and celebrate ice? Might as well embrace what hounds us, you know?
[anad]
At the Ice Festival at the Namburg Bandshell in Central Park (mid-Park from 66th to 72nd Streets) you can witness ice-carving artists from Okamoto Studio use electric chain saws, chisels, and picks to transform more than 6,000 pounds of ice into a replica of a Central Park statue.
There will also be a silent disco, DJs, and treats and food available for purchase from several excellent food trucks. The purpose of this event is to celebrate Central Park Conservancy's preservation efforts, and as such it's entirely free.
9. '80s vs '90s Dance Party (February 13th)
cuttingroomnyc Get groovy: share your best funky disco outfit for #TBT and enter to win two tickets to @BoogieWonderBand's upcoming show at #CuttingRoomNYC. Relive the sights, sounds and soul of the '70s with us on April 19th! Make sure to use #BoogieCR on your photos for a chance to win! Winner will be announced at noon on April 18th.
Do you miss the 90s as much as we do? Do you even remember the 80s?
Okay, we'll be honest. Most of us weren't alive during the 80s, but still, we heard it was a pretty fun decade.
Honestly, this event sounds pretty incredible to us. Cover band Stifler's Mom will be busting out everything from Biggie to Spice Girls to Pearl Jam at Cutting Room. We know, that's a wide repertoire of music.
There will be drinks, there will be dancing, and there will be nostalgia. This event starts at 10:30 p.m., and will rock all night long. Get your tickets here.
10. Frigid New York (February 16th - March 6th)
Living in NYC is cool, because of all the rare opportunities we get to check out amazing musical performances, plus amazing, affordable, emotionally and intellectually intelligent plays.
Frigid New York will be no exception - it features 30 plays at two East Village theaters, and the best news is that the tickets are completely inexpensive.
It's a theater festival that was founded to provide artists to produce their plays, and to make those plays accessible to the community.
The artists take home 100% of the proceeds from the box office, and if you're a theater nerd like us, you need to check out all the possible plays to watch right here. Then, get your tickets. You know you want to.

If you buy a ticket to Whisky Live, you'll get to sample more than 300 different scotches, bourbons, and whiskies from around the world.

We really suggest you only have one sip of each different type, because drinking more than that sounds unsafe.
Still, you'll have four hours to get it all done. The event lasts from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and includes a full dinner buffet and live entertainment. Come on, you know you want to. Grab your ticket here.
13. Breakfast for Dinner (February 29th)

Well, if that's your situation, it sounds like Breakfast for Dinner is the event for you.
This battle of the breakfasts will take place on the leap day (ah!) and plenty of Meatpacking District restaurants will be offering their finest breakfast cuisine.

There will be food from Bubby's, STK, Bodega Negra, Dos Caminos and plenty more. Grab your most enthusiastic, breakfast loving pal, and get your tickets here.
